MTV Movie & MTV Awards 2023: Winners list All Categories

MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023 Winners list All Categories

The MTV Movie & MTV Awards 2023 faced a tumultuous week filled with production changes due to the writers’ strike. Despite the challenges, a diverse group of celebrities were presented with golden popcorn statuettes on Sunday. Among the scripted content, the film “Top Gun: Maverick” and TV shows “Stranger Things,” “The Last of Us,” “The White Lotus,” and “Wednesday” received the most nominations. Meanwhile, unscripted shows like “Jersey Shore Family Vacation,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” and “Vanderpump Rules” led the nominations in their respective categories. Jennifer Coolidge received the Comic Genius Award, and Purple Hearts won the award for Best Musical Moment with their performance of “Come Back Home.”

How To Watch The MTV Movie And TV Awards 2023 Online From Anywhere

Originally, the ceremony was set to be hosted by Drew Barrymore. However, in solidarity with the writers’ strike, Barrymore announced on Thursday that she would step down from hosting duties. Although some of Barrymore’s segments had already been taped, the show went on without a formal host. Barrymore has pledged to return as host for the 2024 show.

In anticipation of striking members of the Writers Guild of America picketing at the Santa Monica Barker Hangar, where the event was filmed, executive producer Bruce Gillmer announced that the MTV Movie & TV Awards would pivot away from a live event and instead air a pre-taped version of the ceremony on Sunday. During the telecast, flashback clips from previous MTV Movie & TV Awards shows were featured extensively, along with pre-taped speeches from the winners.
