Whoopi Goldberg and former co-host Sherri Shepherd have both spoken out about the support they received from executive producer Bill Geddie during times of controversy.

Goldberg was suspended from “The View” in February 2022 for making remarks about the Holocaust that were deemed to be antisemitic. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she said that Geddie was “one of the few people who reached out to me” during that time.

“He said, ‘You know, Whoopi, you’re not alone,'” Goldberg recalled. “‘We’re here for you. We’re going to get through this.'”

Shepherd, who co-hosted “The View” from 2007 to 2014, said that Geddie was also a source of support for her when she was criticized for her weight.

“He said, ‘Sherri, you’re beautiful,'” Shepherd recalled. “‘You’re perfect the way you are.'”

Geddie has been executive producer of “The View” since its inception in 1997. He is known for his calm demeanor and his ability to handle difficult situations.

Bill is a great listener,” Goldberg said. “He’s also a great mediator. He’s able to bring people together and help them find common ground.

Shepherd agreed, saying that Geddie is “a great leader.”

“He’s always there for us,” Shepherd said. “He’s always got our backs.”

Geddie’s support has been invaluable to Goldberg and Shepherd, both of whom have faced their share of controversies during their time on “The View.” Their experiences show that Geddie is a valuable asset to the show, and that he is committed to creating a supportive environment for the hosts.
