Milan’s Rafael Leao has reportedly turned down offers from Chelsea and Real Madrid as talks continue over extending his contract. However, there’s still no agreement over the fine he owes to Sporting CP for terminating his contract in 2018.
Rafael Leao Commits to Milan as Contract Negotiations Progress
Milan’s star forward Rafael Leao has reportedly rejected offers from top European clubs Chelsea and Real Madrid to continue playing for the Rossoneri. Negotiations over extending his contract are currently ongoing, with Milan planning to raise his salary to €7m per season. However, one major obstacle remains in the form of a €20m fine owed to his former club Sporting CP for unilaterally terminating his contract in 2018. While Chelsea representatives have met with Sporting CP to assess the situation, Leao has made it clear that he wants to stay with Milan and is tasking his agents with reaching an agreement with the club.
