Lindsay Lohan and her husband, Bader Shammas, have welcomed their first child, a son named Luai. The baby was born in Dubai on July 18, 2023.
“Lindsay Lohan and her Financier husband, Bader Shammas, welcomed a beautiful, healthy son named Luai,” a rep for the actress told PEOPLE. “The family is over the moon in love.”
Luai’s name is of Arabic origin and means “shield or protector.” He is the first child for Lohan and Shammas, who were married in 2022.
Lohan, 36, has been open about her desire to start a family in recent years. In a June interview with Allure, she said she was “excited” to become a mom and that she was “looking forward to seeing what the feeling is and what it’s like to just be a mom.”
The actress has had a tumultuous personal life in the past, but she has been sober since 2013 and has said that she is now in a good place in her life.
“I’m so grateful for this new chapter in my life,” she said in a statement to PEOPLE. “I’m excited for everyone to meet my son.”
